Missions is something that is vitally important to us here at First Baptist Church.  It is our heart to fulfill the great commission that Jesus set before us in Matthew 28:19-20 when He said, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

We know that missions involves both our community and the world.  It is important that we strive to have a balance of these and reach those in our back yard as well as some we will never see until we reach heaven.

One avenue that we are involved in stateside is through the North American Mission Board and World Changers.  On a semi-annual basis, students and adults from FBC spend a week volunteering for construction projects and renovations on homes in various communities across the country. World Changers provides and opportunity to share the gospel and put faith into action.

It is our sincere hope that you too would catch the vision we have for missions and join in our cause to impact the world!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Over the years, FBC has had the privilege of supporting two missionary families, beyond the many supported through the SBC Cooperative Program. Dr. and Mrs. (Lorna) Harold Fuller served in the interior of Sudan, Africa from 1951-1991. The Rev. and Mrs. (Sue) Terry Hammack have now served for over 35 years, most recently on the field in Kano, Nigeria.

For children living in poverty, a new backpack filled with toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and candy is so exciting! For many, this will be the only gift they receive this holiday season. This gift of love will be shared along with the Gospel with children living in Central Appalachia, which includes 100 of the poorest counties in America.
